    ArcFM Server Gas Valve Isolation Trace

      We recently installed and configured ArcFM Server SOE 10.2.1d for ArcGIS Server 10.5.  We are successfully calling the Gas Trace from our custom client application however, we don't understand how the squeezeOffs property is supposed to work as described in the following description from the ArcFM Server Developer Guide

       

      squeezeOffs

      Used only by the Valve Isolation trace.

      EID values indicating the valves that act as squeeze off points.

      One or more valid EID values. If there are multiple, use a comma-deliminated list.

       

      The documentation suggests that valves are expected to act as squeeze off points in the Valve Isolation trace.  However, we understand squeeze offs to be temporary disconnects placed along a distribution main somewhere BETWEEN the valves.  We would expect to provide one or more Map Points (X,Y) representing the squeeze off points, not valve EIDs, and have the trace return the network features between the two squeeze off points.  That's how the ArcFM Solution Valve Isolation trace works in ArcMap.  What's the purpose of providing valve EIDs?  We have tested the Valve Isolation trace with and without providing valve EIDs in the squeezeOffs property with no difference in the trace results.  Please help us understand how to configure the Valve Isolation trace to utilize squeeze off points.

       

      Also, we have a similar question regarding the temporarySources property.
