Is it an absolute necessity to convert esri objects to arcFM objects? If so, why? To what benefit? Can't ArcFM use and update ESRI objects?

    Stafin Duncan

Database configured for ArcFM use, database updated as necessary, geometric network built, MMelectrictraceweights assigned, autoupdaters in place, object and field model names are in place...everything is set for ArcFM use.

Now, do I really need to perform ArcFM object convert on my data set?
Is it for a performance issue or for functionality?

What must be converted if it is a must?

Can someone even speak to what happens with both ArcFM object converter to use for ArcFM as opposed to Designer? (We have designer licenses and began configuration for designer)

Any help here would be appreciated.
