This is currently not supported. However, we are starting work on the next version of Wavepoint and this is exactly the kind of features we want to allow. We are looking at providing more info in the URL so links can be passed around or saved and provide a more faithful rendition of the state of the page. So, if you were at a specific point on the map, it will be reflected in the URL. If you were on a specific tab, it will be reflected, etc.
I will get in touch with you when we get closer to saving the map information. There are many ways of "returning to a location". You provided one of them (x,y and zoom). But some people might prefer an "extent".

sounds good thanks. Having a URL which shows the current extent (without having to have a feature like a cable or patch location selected) would be good.
Providing an extent would work well if we have the bounding box of an area (i.e. a property boundary, a regional area etc), so I could see both options working well.
