Best Practice for Installing Oracle Clients for ArcFM Desktop 10.2.1a?

    Jim Kyle

It seems there are multiple reasons that ArcFM 10.2.1a (ArcGIS 10.2.1) will require both a 32bit and 64 bit Oracle client install.  Does anybody have a recommended approach to installing both Oracle clients on a desktop machine?  For example, would you call the targets client32 and client 64 (instead of client1 and client2)?  Does it matter which client you install first?  Do you make both clients have the same options?  What are the environment variables settings?  Do you maintain TNSNAMES in both directories?  What is your experience with utilizing ESRI 64bit Background Geoprocessing with ArcFM 10.2.1a and oracle?

      Thanks, for any info.
