In ArcFM versions prior to 10.1.1 it was possible to apply the ESRI_SPLITWITHUPDATE model name in order to allow use of the Split With Update method of splitting features (introduced in ArcGIS 9.2). In the ArcFM documentation there is a fairly light weight note regarding the impact this may have including the note "Some ArcFM functionality will not work properly." - for example see http://resources.arcfmsolution.com/10.1/Appendix/Class_Model_Names.html.

Can anyone point to (or provide) more detailed information on what "ArcFM functionality will not work properly.". We have some custom tools running on 10.1 and earlier which we need to support.

      Much appreciated

Feeder Manager is the primary thing that did not work with SplitWithUpdate prior to 10.1.1/10.2 but I believe there were also some things to watch out for in the Fiber Manager and Designer products. Starting at 10.1.1/10.2  the entire ArcFM Solution (Feeder Manager, Designer, Fiber Manager, etc.) supports SplitWithUpdate. Let me know if you need any more details.
