Solution - Responder - Object Referece Error When Executing Multiple Steps

Version 2

Users may receive the following error when executing multiple out-of-order steps in the Incident Management window:

2015-09-18 13:43:49,738 [Main Thread] ERROR Miner.Windows [(null)] - An unexpected program error has occurred.

Refer to the error log for detailed information about the error.

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This is only seen if multiple options were selected that weren't in order, and the user selected the Execute All button. As a workaround, the user can execute one step at a time to avoid this error.

This issue has been resolved in the latest releases of Responder and will be included in 10.2.1a SP1 and 10.2.1b SP1. Ensure that you have the latest patches or SPs installed as they become available.
