How-To - Responder - Increase MSMQ Timeout Delays

Version 2

    Solution

If an execution request isn't able to finish due to database locking or some other cause, Responder uses the retry functionality where it will store the message in a 'delay' queue for a set amount of time.  After the time is expired, the request is made again with the next available process. The following settings are used to the control the retry times for MSMQ communication inside of Responder.

Inside the Miner.Responder.DataServices.exe.config file you will find the following section:

    2015-01-27 08_48_42-Miner.Responder.DataServices.exe.config - Microsoft Visual Studio (Administrator.jpg

These values can be changed to determine the amount of delay between each attempt.  A lower time may increase the chance of it still being locked, while a longer time will increase the wait time seen on the client applications.
