Solution - Designer - EDM Site Condition Error When Saving a Design

Version 6

    Behavior

The following error message is written to the Miner event log when a design is saved in Designer:

    2014-04-22 07:51:18,978 [1] ERROR  [(null)] - mmExtendedData:

The following EDM site conditions are unknown:

    NETWORK_STATUS

Please ask your adminstrator to confirm that the MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR and MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR_TYPE tables have been populated.

    {log4net:HostName=PT-830360, LoggingAssemblyFileVersion=10.20.0.265}

    Cause

This is due to NETWORK_STATUS cost factor values not being configured in the MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR_TYPE and MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR tables in the Workflow Manager database. The error reports any missing site conditions when a design is saved.

    Solution

Follow the instructions in this document to configure EDM correctly: Custom Site Conditions & Extended Data.

Here is an example of how to correct the error.

The NETWORK_STATUS field in the EDM_COMPATIBLEUNIT table in the geodatabase has the domain of EDM_NetworkStatus domain set. This domain has these values:

    CodeDescription
    0Not in Service
    1Gas in Service
    2Electric in Service

To function correctly, corresponding values must exist in the MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR_TYPE and MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR tables in the Workflow Manager database. In this case a row would first be added to MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR_TYPE:

    IDNAMEDISPLAY_NAMEDEFAULT_ID
    4Network_StatusNetwork Status10

Then a row for each value in the EDM_NetworkStatus domain is added to MM_WMS_COST_FACTOR:

    IDTYPE_IDCODEVALUEMULT
    1040Not in Service1
    1141Gas in Service1.5
    1242Electric in Service1.7
