Solution - Designer - Errors When Converting to Designer Object in the ArcFM Solution Object Converter

Version 2

    Behavior

    When a feature class is converted to a Designer object using the ArcFM Solution Object Converter, the DesignerDataset should be created if it does not already exist. It should also contain Design, DesignGraphics, WorkLocation and WorkRequest feature classes. Instead, the following errors occur:

    2014-01-30 16:24:19,345 [1] ERROR  [(null)] - "Failed altering field alias: description to name"

    HRESULT: -2147219885

    File: "MMDesignerCGOUtils.cpp"

    Line: 354

    {log4net:HostName=VM-LIBC101, LoggingAssemblyFileVersion=10.10.0.276}

    2014-01-30 16:24:19,346 [1] ERROR  [(null)] - "Failed adding WorkRequest class to Designer Dataset"

    HRESULT: -2147219885

    File: "MMDesignerCGOUtils.cpp"

    Line: 214

    {log4net:HostName=VM-LIBC101, LoggingAssemblyFileVersion=10.10.0.276}

    Cause

    The errors are caused by the WorkRequest feature class already existing in another dataset, for example, the Electric dataset.

    Solution

    Delete the existing WorkRequest feature class, then run the ArcFM Solution Object Converter to convert a feature class to a Designer object. The DesignerDataset should now be created and contain Design, DesignGraphics, WorkLocation and WorkRequest feature classes.
