    • AD FS Configurations: There is now improved support for a variety of Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) configurations..

    Maps

    • Base Maps: When tile packages are downloading in the background, Orbit Mobile now displays the number of packages to load and the status of the download.
    • Identify Tool: You can use the new Identify Tool to select a feature on the map and view its attributes in the details section. Alternatively, you can create a box to identify a group of features. If you have multiple operational map services (e.g., electric, gas, water, etc.), you can choose which operational map the Identify Tool applies to by selecting it from the drop-down list.

    Task List

    • Task Filtering: Allows you to filter your tasks by Task Type, Current, Today, and Completed.
    • Identify Tab: The new Identify tab displays information when you either select a feature on the map using the Identify tool, or when you click the Identify tool in the task details section for a task on a feature. Read-only attribute information from ArcGIS for Server appears for the identified feature. You can add tasks to this feature, if necessary, or click clear to remove the results.
    • Search Tab: The new Search tab now allows you to search for features on the map. You can enter a portion of the feature's name and a list of results appears. New tasks are created at the same location (and if applicable, the same feature) as the original task.

In addition, feature attributes are copied from ArcGIS for Server into the new task’s properties if the field names match.

    Known Issues

    Orbit Mobile App (Windows OS)

    • ArcGIS Feature Information: A data connection is required for searching, identifying, or copying attributes from features in ArcGIS for Server.
    • Maps: If multiple basemaps (map services or .tpk) are configured, they must all use the same spatial reference.
    • Maps: You can currently only display a basemap while offline (disconnected from ArcGIS for Server or ArcGIS Online) using tile packages (.tpk) if the coordinate system is set at WGS 1984 Web Mercator (EPSG 3857 formerly known as Esri WKID 102100.)
    • Maps: Operational layers will not display when in a disconnected state.
    • Support: When using a Surface tablet, an incorrect message may appear indicating you do not have an email program when you click Support, even if you do have an email program installed. After dismissing the message, you can still complete the support e-mail as normal.
    • Touch Capabilities: With some Windows 8 devices, the touch capability does not function for task reordering. A stylus is required.

    Orbit Mobile App (iPad)

    • ArcGIS Feature Information: A data connection is required for searching, identifying, or copying attributes from features in ArcGIS for Server.
    • Login: When configuring Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS), Forms authentication is required to be in the list of authentication types and must appear before Basic.
    • Maps: Operational layers will not display when in a disconnected state.
    • Task Details: Depending on the layout selected, if a task's inspection detail contains a long label, the ability to see the value taken for the detail cannot be seen when the task is completed. Contact your administrator about altering the field label to a shorter value.
    • Task Details: Scrolling may not bounce back for task details in some instances.
    • Task Details: Adding multiple numbers after a decimal in a numeric inspection detail results in the value rounding to two decimal places (with no indicator prior to clicking Set Number.)
    • Task List: Scrolling may not bounce back for the task list in some instances.
