When attempting to generate an OTDR trace, the following error may be received, even though the distance seems correct.
(OTDR Trace Too Long
OTDR trace length (100), exceeds traceable fiber length.)
This error will occur if the wrong port was selected for the trace. The OTDR trace behaves like a directional trace when performed on objects with implied connections, such as frontside and backside ports. For instance if you start the trace from the backside port, it will trace towards the direction of the frontside port.
Trace from the port that is not directly connected to the fiber. If the fiber is connected to the backside port, trace from the corresponding frontside port.
