Upon trying to open a location in the Connection Manager tool, error pop-ups are displayed and the Connection Manager will not open.
This is likely caused by a failure of the ArcFM Upgrade Database task during the Fiber Manager upgrade process for release 10.1. Errors may or may not appear during the upgrade, but the final upgrade message erroneously indicates success.
The cause of the failure can be a number of things, but one common cause is a failure to update the Fiber Manager Field Model Name domain from a login that is not detected to be the domain owner.
Follow the steps in our documentation to implement the upgrade changes manually:
1. Via ArcCatalog (connected as the data owner), add these fields to the Fiber Manager circuit object table (table with the FIBERCIRCUITTABLE model name, e.g. F_CIRCUIT in our sample data):
FIBERCIRCUITHEADERCLASS : Text (255)
FIBERCIRCUITHEADERGLOBALID : guid
FIBERCIRCUITTRACESTYLE : long integer
2. Add model names of the same name to the "Fiber Field Model Name" domain, then
3. Apply the new model names to the field in the circuit table with the same name via the ArcFM Properties Manager.
