Schneider Electric is excited to introduce the 10.2 release of the ArcFM Solution. We've added powerful functionality and intelligent enhancements to many ArcFM Solution applications. This release also resolves issues discovered by customers in previous versions. For complete descriptions of resolved problems, view the Read Me file that corresponds with each product. You can access Read Me files on the GIS Downloads page.
ArcFM Solution 10.2 has been certified against ArcGIS 10.2. The 10.2 release introduces the following new functionality:
Feeder Manager 2.0 is here. This new version of Feeder Manager tracks feeder information in memory. Editing performance is far superior to that of Feeder Manager 1.0, and you can expect a substantially reduced number of version conflicts. Explore feeders with the new Find Feeder tool in ArcMap, and use the new Feeder Export geoprocessing tool or the public API to access feeder information outside of ArcMap. You can also view Feeder Manager 2.0 data on ArcFM Server.
The Attribute Editor received numerous improvements. You can now dock it, tab through its fields, and use a Windows-style calendar to pick dates. Along with the Locator and Identify tools, it also contains more support for joined data.
A new Autoupdaters tab in ArcCatalog displays class and field autoupdaters assigned to feature classes and tables. You can also use this new tab to search datasets for autoupdater assignments by event.
Performance enhancements continue to be a focus for Designer. Improved caching, optimized SQL queries, and faster data-table processing result in more efficient open and save procedures. Other enhancements include the search functionality of CU Filter, which now performs searches on the description of compatible units (CUs) and the name of favorites.
This release also introduces a Reverse Highlight tool that finds CUs in the Designer tree based on a selected feature on the map.
Compatibility with Esri continues as Designer now supports Esri's Split with Update feature.
Designer now creates non-graphical CUs automatically when you add them to a design. A popular user request, automatically creating these CUs will save users valuable time when creating designs that contain many non-graphical CUs.
We've added a variety of improvements for Fiber Manager at 10.2. The application now automatically handles fiber availability attributes. Whenever you use Circuit Manager to add, delete, heal a circuit, or use Connection Manager to change a circuit path, the affected fiber availability fields automatically update. This includes the attributes for the number of available strands belonging to a fiber optic cable, as well as the availability attributes of individual strands.
Reporting is more useful now that you can add one or more extra fields to fiber reports. Six new field model names, one for each report in Fiber Manager (except the glass report), allow you to choose which fields appear in reports.
Fiber optic cables' footstamp markings can be printed in different units, depending on the type of cable or the vendor. These footstamp units may be different than your map units, so Fiber Manager now provides a way to specify the particular footstamp units on fiber optic cables and cable segments. This ensures correct cable length calculations when footstamps provide the source of cables' length.
Further, you can now run OTDR traces from splice points as well as reverse the rack order of items in the patch panel connection report.
The Responder team is pleased to announce the ability to place and remove jumpers in ArcMap that allow you to temporarily connect two electrical line features and restore outages. Also, check out Responder Phase Swap that now allows you to backfeed from one phase to a different phase.
Over twenty enhancement requests from User Voice have made it into the release as well, including: Copy/Paste from Responder Explorer, a new Open Calls page in Responder Web Browser, Customer List Report changes (trace by phase, on actual state, and trace from a list of devices), filtering Responder Explorer based on ArcMap selections, and more!
ArcFM Server is now compatible with ArcGIS 10.2. In addition, we've added support for query layers and improved the performance of most operations.
And in case you missed it...
